Globo, Brazil’s largest TV network, uses pre-set moments during soccer matches to insert sponsor ads. What used to be a pretty rigid format became an opportunity for Amazon. What if we advertised products related to those exact moments? A player kicks the ball way off target? Perfect time to promote prescription glasses. Someone gets injured? Amazon has ice packs, band-aids, and even anti-inflammatories. We ran over 10 of these contextual ads and they quickly went viral on social media.
